Lesson in Love

They say be weary of love
it will bite you; you will fall
They say trust only yourself
They are lonely; They are wrong

love bites, and you fall
kiss the ground; bloody nosed
but roll over afterwards
and laugh forever; eyes closed

the bite is rough for some
the chase; out of control
we fall, but we're grinning
and They will never know

why

a love poem

what an odd mood i am in
to think that i just jumped off a building:
you
and to think that it was not quite fatal:
or was it
my climax was not at terminal velocity:
topspeed
nor was it the moment prior to the fall:
yourpush
it was when i realized:
understood
that i was not plummeting towards earth:
youme
rather earth was plummeting towards me
oh how silly

unaveragesque

listen to the thunder clash
crash bash into me and my
self onto only a lump
of what's left

pit pat pot circle dot dot
i am riddlerhyme
step in time
to the beat salsaman

cannot be thy shaky speary self
without a pit pat pot
circle dot dot
crash bash me

Overture to The Death of Patience

digits caught in the entanglement
a careful disarray of dalliance
rather than force through
massage slowly, entreatingly

impatient again, trace down
dancing with diaphoresis
from one temple to the next
clinically, thirstily, adagio

silky, topwhite on archingbrown
down two golden, soft cordillera
encircling up and around
only to peak once or twice

tracing further, jumping within
leave trails of fire and sweat
nothing less expectant
a trace of the purpose

and finally, patience dies
a connection of four eyes
a glistening of two
topwhite, archingbrown

glint

back against the wall
singing
voice cracking as usual
picking
back against the wall

knees against the floor
praying
hands sweating as usual
begging
knees against the floor

eyes against the clouds
reaching
hopes gliding as usual
soaring
eyes against the clouds
