Overture to The Death of Patience

digits caught in the entanglement
a careful disarray of dalliance
rather than force through
massage slowly, entreatingly

impatient again, trace down
dancing with diaphoresis
from one temple to the next
clinically, thirstily, adagio

silky, topwhite on archingbrown
down two golden, soft cordillera
encircling up and around
only to peak once or twice

tracing further, jumping within
leave trails of fire and sweat
nothing less expectant
a trace of the purpose

and finally, patience dies
a connection of four eyes
a glistening of two
topwhite, archingbrown
